You're new, you don't know how long you'll be doing it, and the equipment is quite expensive. That's why renting in this case is the best solution. But that's my opinion, you decide for yourself. Own mask gives a good overview and is much more comfortable than the rented. A suit, balloons and all you need you will give a rent in a dive center. Over time, if you get tired of diving, you can buy and their equipment, but if you are a beginner - it will not be necessary.
