How does the Google ranking works?

Recommended Posts

Google ranking systems are designed to do just that: sort through hundreds of billions of webpages in our Search index to find the most relevant, useful results in a fraction of a second, and present them in a way that helps you find what you’re looking for.

These ranking systems are made up of not one, but a whole series of algorithms. To give you the most useful information, Search algorithms look at many factors, including the words of your query, relevance and usability of pages, expertise of sources, and your location and settings.

PageRank is a way of measuring the importance of website pages. According to Google: PageRank works by counting the number and quality of links to a page to determine a rough estimate of how important the website is.

Basically, I'm trying to answer the question: “How Do Google Search Results Work?”. In a nutshell, this process involves the following steps:

Crawling – Following links to discover the most important pages on the web
Indexing – Storing information about all the retrieved pages for later retrieval
Ranking – Determining what each page is about, and how it should rank for relevant queries

So many pages are go for indexing daily, and daily ranking reasults are change. so it's hard to think that how can google mange it.

Google only serve that pages who have quality content and who fulfill all the search intent. relevancy does matter if we talk about ranking. some steps google apply in between the indexing to ranking

- crawing

- indexing

- ranking

first google bots crawl the page and if it is satiesfied the all the algorithms than google index that page, and based on the relevancy and quality of content server that page on number in SERP that's called ranking.
