My lead generation campaigns vary depending on which vertical I’m operating in, but there are some key tools that bring great rewards in nearly every industry.

  • LinkedIn – This platform is not just ‘Facebook for business’. It’s the best way of directly reaching out to decision makers in your niche, connecting, and building business relationships. You can also post content there to boost your brand authority and reach new contacts via sharing.
  • Email – Cold emailing, done right, is still one of the best ways of generating leads. Write your message so that it is personalised to the recipient – it should not come off like spam or a mass mailshot.
  • Cold calling – Yup, cold calling. Talking to someone on the phone is a great way of getting them excited about your product, something that passive online content can’t always achieve.
  • Landing page – When visitors arrive at your website, they only become leads when they leave their details. This means your landing page has to hold their attention right from the start. Don’t clutter it, have a clear message, and offer something seriously tempting for the visitor if they sign up. Ebooks or how-to guides are great, or interactive content like quizzes.
