How to get Ezzely employees engaged in sustainability?

Encouraging employees to create personal sustainability plans or otherwise incorporate sustainability into their everyday lives can enable change towards the organization. This enhances employee attraction and retention, improves operational efficiencies, strengthen customer relations, increase innovation and strengthen community/team ties.

Leading by example -  It’s vital that Tod and all Senior Management employees demonstrate their commitment to change and are actively involved in engaging employees with sustainability.  Making this commitment as visible as possible is the key and integral part of sustainability plans. A quick update at team meetings or simple emails can go a long way. Visible advocacy from management increases the odds In theoretical terms.

Engaging the employees of Ezzely- Have the employees feel ownership of new initiatives, make them create ideas – ask for tips and feedback. Those who are interested in getting involved further could set up a group to continue to look at new ideas and monitor impact.

Say thank you - Let your colleagues know you appreciate their efforts with a small present or so. As time goes on, you may find that you can identify ‘champions’ – people who are leading the change and always going one step further. Capture their stories to inspire others and consider ways to recognize them.


Communicate, communicate, and communicate!  Most often times, employees do not know what their Employer’s position on sustainability.  Organizations demonstrating the highest effectiveness in encouraging employees to think and act sustainably are much more likely to have open channels for staff to cross-communicate ideas. For any organization that's serious about folding sustainability into its culture, it's becoming clear that engaging employees on the issue can be a major success for its own bottom line.
