Risk Management

Risk management is one of the cornerstones for trading. While it is possible to make significant profits it is also possible to make substantial losses. Hirose Financial has a number of risk management tools that can enhance your profit potential while limiting downside risk.

The Lion Trader platform includes many features that help you manage your risk exposure.

Stop Loss orders and Trailing Stops from only 5 pips away are effective methods to close out a position. Our Hedging feature can create an opposite position to an existing open position (without having to close that existing position).

The Risk Exposure window summarises net currency positions and calculates your base currency valuation.

You can activate a set number of lots to trade and also trade as a percentage of your usable margin requirement.

Client Funds

All Retail Client Funds are segregated from our money. That means that if Hirose Financial became insolvent your funds would be returned to you. We have client trust accounts with Tier 1 Banks specifically for client funds which means that we cannot comingle your money with our money.

Segregation of client funds

When you transfer funds to start trading they will be sent to a Hirose Client Money account at one of the Tier 1 Banks we use. Hirose Financial uses its own money when acting as broker to its clients and does not utilise client funds during the course of its daily business.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is a 'statutory fund of last resort' in the United Kingdom, to compensate customers of FSA regulated firms in the event of their insolvency. Hirose Financial falls under the 'Investment' claims category and the maximum cover is £50,000 per person per firm.

Hirose News | 9 July 2012

<Euro/Dollar>

Since NFP was lower than expected, investors have turned to 'risk off' and as a consequence EURUSD continues to experience pressure on the downside. Moreover, stop orders below 1.2350 were triggered, and it fell below June 1 lows (1.22863) to 1.22598. The next support will be on May levels and June 2010.

May 16 2010 low 1.21440

May 23 2010 low 1.21530

June 16 2010 high 1.21520

June 13 2010 low 1.21120

June 27 2010 low 1.21510

Even though there is a support line at 1.2150, if the euro falls below this level, it may slide to 1.18760 (June 6 2010) or even 1.16360 (Nov 1 2005). Debt problems of Spain and other countries in the euro zone will continue to pressure the euro in the future.

Expected Range: 1.19500-1.25500 Sell on the rallies. Place a firm stop order if you buy.

Trade with low margin from £3 $5 or €4

With our innovative Micro Forex account the minimum total position that can be taken is 1 LOT (or 1000 units). This limits the total exposure as well as bringing a low deposit/margin requirement of just £3, €4, and $5 per lot.

We encourage our clients to practise their trading strategies with smaller lot sizes to sharpen their trading skills within a live environment.

Trading psychology differs greatly when using 'live' real funds rather than demonstration accounts. It is in this environment that true learning and confidence is gained.

Hirose Weekly News 16 July 2012

<Euro/Dollar>

Although the euro stopped falling versus the greenback at 1.2150 and sprang back to 1.2250's, it is now fluctuating within the Bollinger Band, and therefore it is has potential to be sold. A break below the price of daily Chikou Span also suggests selling the euro. If the euro breaks below 1.2150, the next support level will be at 1.2000. And if it was broken, a further support level is at 1.1876 (June 2010).

To gain a long position it may be worth waiting until 1.2000.

Expected Range: 1.2000-1.2335 Sell the euro

FAQ

What are your commission and fees?

We do not charge any commissions or a fee to trade on our platform. We make money through the spread, which is the difference between the bid and offer price for a currency pair.

Does Hirose Financial offer a Demo account?

Yes, we do. Hirose Financial gives the opportunity to test our LION Trader for a free trial period of 15 days, enabling you to familiarise yourself with our services as if you were trading for real, but with no financial risk to you.

Can you trade on my behalf?

No, we cannot. We offer an execution only service. We therefore do not offer advice, or trade on your behalf.

Can I be long and short in the same currency pair simultaneously?

Yes, you can. It is called 'crossed' or 'hedged' position - long and short positions of the same size in the same currency pair. The margin required to open and maintain the position is half of the usual margin. However, it may not necessarily be economic to hold two opposing positions.

Do you have any restrictions on scalping?

No, we don't have any special restrictions on scalping.
