When submitting your site to Yahoo, there are some things you should keep in mind to help you get more traffic to your site. There are many creative ways you can do this.
- Make sure you get your website placed at the top of the search engines. Generate content that is useful to your site. Keeping your content fresh is a way to do this. All content must be original. If you do not have original work, your website will be placed at the bottom as search engines will be able to detect this.
- Use backlinks for your site. By doing this, search engines will automatically index your websites. There will be no need to submit the sites to search engines if you use backlinks. Make sure all links work and that none of them are broken.
- Use keywords. This can not be stressed enough. Keywords are important to getting traffic to your site. This allows users to find your site when they type in what they are looking for. Make sure that the keywords are related to your site though and do not overdo it with them. If you do, you may risk being placed at the bottom of the search engine once again.
- Consider advertising your site if you have the means to do so. There are many creative ways to do this. Advertise your site on social network sites, leave business cards at places you frequent, ask people to tell others by word of mouth about your site, place flyers in places where many will see, or advertise in a local newspaper. You can even advertise your site on your personal vehicle if you have the means to do so.
- Never spam anyone about your website. No one likes a spammer and this is a good way to receive bad word of mouth.
